Ulysses S. Grant

Portrayed by Mike Miller

The U.S. Grant Homestead Association proudly presents General U.S. Grant as their entry for the Fall Back into Time contest. General Grant represents the type of fine Civil War leaders and soldiers who came from this region.

Ulysses S. Grant was born April 27th 1822 at Pt. Pleasant Clermont County, Ohio. He moved to Georgetown in Brown County and lived there 16years, longer than he lived anywhere else. During the Civil War he rose to the rank of Lt. General of the Army. He was elected 18th President of the United States and served two terms, 1868-1876.

Mike Miller, Facilities Manager of the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, has re-enacted Grant since 1997.
