The Clermont County Park proudly sponsors the historical character, Ralph the Diver.
Each of the original wicket dams on the Ohio River had a diver who would perform underwater repairs to the dam. Ralph the Diver is loosely based on the real life diver Ralph Lindsey and the stories about diving on the Ohio River Dams that he and other divers have shared: working in ice, seeing fish, and almost drowning.
Ralph the Diver is portrayed by Wayne McClain, employee at the Chilo Lock #34 museum. The picture of the diver was created by McClain using a photo and drawing. Visitors to the museum may take their own photo as Ralph , the Diver behind the stand up display created by McClain.
